At least 13 people have died in flash flooding this week in Missouri, as officials try to evacuate towns ravaged by rising waters. Most of the deaths came when people became trapped in vehicles after driving onto flooded streets. The Mississippi River is reportedly expected to a make a record crest over the next few days; Gov. Jay Nixon has declared a state of emergency. The storm system has dropped more than a half-foot of rain thus far.
