Keene State College officials have finally taken action against 170 students who participated in a massive riot two months ago which resulted in at least 30 injuries requiring hospital treatment. The chaos occurred on October 18 during the New Hampshire town’s annual pumpkin festival when large parties from Keene State began throwing beer bottles, tipping cars, jumping from roofs, and damaging street lights and signs. When rubber bullets and pepper spray could not contain the crowd of over 1,500 people, the SWAT team was called in to battle the chaos into the early hours of the morning. Out of the student’s reprimanded for their actions, two were expelled, one withdrew their enrollment, and nine others were suspended. The rest faced probation and fines. The allegations ranged from alcohol charges to disorderly behavior, according to Keene State’s president Anne Huot.
