At least 17 foreign tourists are dead following a hostage situation at the Bardo Museum in Tunis. Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid confirmed that Polish, Italian, German, and Spanish nationals were among those those killed in Tunis and called the incident a “cowardly terrorist operation.” In addition to the 19 dead, 24 others were injured, a majority of whom were also tourists. Local media reports that two gunmen were killed by security forces. It’s not yet known who is responsible.
