It’s Captain Hook’s worst nightmare: A team of 30 men in the Philippines caught a 21-foot saltwater crocodile on Saturday on the southern island of Mindanao. The monstrous croc weighed in at 2,370 pounds, and is thought to be the biggest of its kind in captivity. "When I finally stood before it, I couldn't believe my eyes,” the town’s mayor told the Associated Press. Though the creature has been blamed for the death of a young girl and a fisherman, there’s no proof yet that it was responsible. Villagers have vowed to continue hunting for more giant crocodiles in their midst.
