Minneapolis police say they’ve arrested three men in connection to Monday night’s shooting at a Black Lives Matter sit-in. Allen Lawrence “Lance” Scarsella III, 23, was arrested in Bloomington. Sources said Nathan Gustavsson, 21, of Hermantown, and Daniel Macey, 26, of Pine City, surrendered to police and were arrested. A fourth man, whom police had arrested Tuesday afternoon, was released after it was determined he was not at the scene of the shooting. Demonstrators have been conducting a vigil outside the station over the death of 24-year-old Jamar Clark, who was fatally shot by a white police officer on Nov. 15. (Eyewitnesses say he was shot while handcuffed.) Miski Noor, a spokeswoman for the local Black Lives Matter group, said three white males arrived at the scene “as they have most nights.” When a group of protesters tried to move them away, Noor said two of the men opened fire and then fled. Authorities say they are considering a move to treat the shooting as a hate crime. On Tuesday night, more than 1,000 people marched to Minneapolis City Hall to reinforce their demands for justice in the Clark case.
