34 Dead In Suspected Suicide Bombing

At least 34 people were killed and another 100 injured in twin blasts by a suspected suicide bomber in Peshawar, Pakistan, on Saturday—the latest deadly attack since Osama bin Laden’s death on May 2. The bombing took place near building that contains a newspaper office and several apartments, and occurred when many people were dining at nearby restaurants. Officials said a small blast preceded the a larger one, which then caused a fire to break out. Hospital officials said 21 people had been seriously wounded, and several police officers and journalists were among the injured. While no one has yet to claim responsibility for the attack, several similar high-profile attacks in Pakistan have been carried out by Taliban militants since bin Laden’s death.
