A four-month-old girl in Oklahoma was found dead late Friday after being left in a hot car for several hours, authorities said. Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Mark Opgrande said the girl’s grandmother thought she had dropped her off at a daycare center on Friday morning. “She apparently had thought that she dropped off the child this morning, which she had not,” he said. The grandmother, who has not been identified, returned to the daycare facility at around 5 p.m. to pick the girl up. The search then led her and daycare workers back to her vehicle, where the girl was found dead in the backseat. The girl’s grandmother, who has custody of the child, has been released with no charges filed yet. The girl’s death comes just a week after two similar fatal incidents in Arizona.
