5x15 Speaking Series Returns to New York on Nov. 13
After the debut performance in New York last month, 5x15 returns with an all-star lineup—Jay McInerney, Grace Coddington and more.
Oct. 1 saw the New York debut of 5x15 in association with The Daily Beast. Siri Hustvedt, Andrew Roberts, Paul Muldoon, Peter Godwin, and Philip Gourevitch each had 15 minutes to take to the stage and entertain and inspire. They did not disappoint.
The stories ranged from a gripping tale of childhood in Rhodesia; to a meditation on the idea of the between; a riff on song lyrics and poetry; to a dissection of the timing of the D-Day landings; and finally, a thought-provoking story of forgiveness after genocide.
5x15 will return to the Players Club in Gramercy Park on Tuesday 13th November at 7.30 p.m. with an equally intriguing and eclectic lineup of speakers.
Grace Coddington, Jay McInerney, Frances Osborne, Joe Conason, and Gretchen Rubin will each have 15 minutes to talk about their work and inspirations.
Grace Coddington, the legendary creative director of Vogue, will be in conversation with Amanda Foreman for 15 minutes to talk about her new book Grace: A Memoir and discuss her epic life in fashion.
New York novelist par excellence and wine critic, Jay McInerney, will entertain with a Gatsby-esque story.
British writer Frances Osborne—author of bestselling book The Bolter, which tells the story of her great-grandmother who ran away to Kenya’s scandalous “Happy Valley set”—talks about her recent novel Park Lane and why she’s fascinated by women who break the rules.
Political commentator and president Clinton biographer Joe Conason, editor of The National Memo, tells a timely story about elections past and present.
And Gretchen Rubin, the author of the runaway bestseller The Happiness Project—a book that launched an entire movement—tells a story of drift.
Once again the evening will be hosted by the historian, writer, and broadcaster Amanda Foreman.
Tickets for the first event sold out fast, so book now to avoid disappointment.
Tickets cost $25 and are available here.
