With a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers avoided tying the record for the worst start to a season in NBA history. The 76ers went into the game 0-17, just one game shy of tying the 2009-2010 Nets, who started 0-18. The game was not pretty, however. Philadelphia shot a mere 39 percent against the worst defensive team in the league, and only nine points in the second period. After the win, Coach Brett Brown said he would celebrate with, “cartwheels, somersaults, great dinner with my family. Hug my players. Really, salute the fans.”
