Federal agents arrested more than 90 people and seized 5 million packets of synthetic drugs in a nationwide crackdown. The Drug Enforcement Agency said raids in more than 100 U.S. cities uncovered 167,000 packets of “bath salts,” 4.8 million packets of synthetic cannabis, and more than $36 million in cash. Synthetic drugs mimic more traditional ones, like cocaine, and have been blamed in violent incidents in recent months. A spokesman for the DEA said in a statement that Operation Log Jam “has disrupted the entire illegal industry, from manufacturers to retailers.”
