A Cure for Cross-Eyed Opossum?

A new diet may cure Heidi the cross-eyed opossum of her defining feature. The opossum, which is part of an upcoming exhibit at a zoo in Leipzig, Germany, became an international star after photographers got an exclusive look at the new exhibit. There are already stuffed toys replicas and strange techno songs about her. But Heidi is losing weight on a new diet, and zookeepers believe she may shed the fatty deposits behind her eyes that shift her gaze inward. A zoo spokeswoman said the thinner Heidi is already looking better. "She is making clear progress with mobility, and can now use her tail much better to hold onto things," the spokeswoman said.
