In the wake of devastating evidence that baseball star Alex Rodriguez used steroids in 2003, sportswriter Bill Madden says Rodriguez "can probably forget the Hall of Fame." Hall of Famers are elected by the Baseball Writers Association, an organization to which Madden himself belongs. He explains that members are instructed to take players "record, playing ability, integrity, sportsmanship, character and contributions" into account, and that 75% of the association must vote for a candidate. A-Rod's character and sportsmanship have long been called into question, and now that his record and integrity are on the line, Madden says the athletic wild child won't stand a chance.
