The mother of Ethan Couch, the teenager who famously cited "affluenza" as a defense in a drunk-driving case, has been indicted for aiding her son's escape to Mexico. Tonya Couch was indicted by a grand jury Thursday on charges of hindering apprehension and money laundering. After a video surfaced showing Ethan Couch at a party where alchohol was present—drinking alcohol would be a violation of his probation—his mother took him to Mexico in order to avoid capture.
