More unsettling news out of Afghanistan. According to a U.N. report, the number of civilians killed or wounded increased by 20 percent during the first 10 months of the year, compared to the same period last year; the increase is attributed to stepped-up attacks by insurgents. Insurgent attacks are expected to keep increasing in the short term, as the Taliban tries to undercut gains NATO says it’s made recently, as the war begins its 10th year. "Before it gets better, it may get worse," said the top U.N. envoy to Afghanistan.
