A firefight at a wedding in a northern Afghanistan province left 21 people dead and another 10 injured, an official said Monday. The Sunday night shooting broke out between two groups attending a wedding in Andarab district, according to Jaweed Basharat, the governor of Baghlan province. Majority of the victims were wedding guests and ranged in age from 14 to 60 years old, he added. Though provinces in the north like Baghlan have been rocked by insurgency since the war against the Taliban began in 2001, the conflict is often used as a cover for criminal activity, the AP reports.
