Afghan insurgents are continuing to target the offices of aid organizations, this time the Red Cross’s office in Jalalabad. A suicide bomber blew himself up at the gate while two gunmen entered the building. Reuters reports that all six people on the foreign staff are safe, but dozens of Afghans also work in the building. One guard was reportedly killed in the initial explosion. Less than a week ago, insurgents attacked the International Organization for Migration office in Kabul, killing three civilians and injuring four aid workers.
