Airbnb on Thursday rolled out a new nondiscrimination policy to curb criticism over hosts rejecting renters based on gender, race, religion, disability, age, or ethnicity. The New York Times reports that the homeshare app also plans to minimize user photos to avoid race or gender visibility. Airbnb says it will also ask users to agree to a “community commitment” starting Nov. 1. The commitment, according to The Times, will ask people to cooperate on the service “regardless of race, religion, national origin, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age.”
