One of the strangest stories in American politics has taken a dark turn: Alvin Greene, the obscure man who won South Carolina's Democratic Senate primary earlier this year, was indicted on Friday with one felony charge and one misdemeanor charge. Greene was arrested last November when police claimed he approached a University of South Carolina student in a computer lab, showed her pornographic images, and talked about going back to her dorm room. He has been charged with disseminating, procuring, or promoting obscenity, and with the misdemeanor charge of communicating obscene materials to a person without consent.
