Foreign correspondent Christiane Amanpour is about to join one of the most insular genres of television: the Sunday morning political talk show. Amanpour takes over ABC's This Week from George Stephanopoulos this Sunday. Amanpour's extensive experience handling foreign conflicts represents a break with the pundits and Washington insiders who traditionally populate shows like Meet the Press and Face the Nation, This Week's two biggest rivals. This Week's executive producer, Ian Cameron, said Amanpour's version will be more internationally focused than the previous one, having at least one international guest per show. Cameron also said that Amanpour wants to deal more with how policy affects people than with how it gets made.
