It’s finally upon us—a decade after they met at the University of St. Andrews, Prince William and Kate Middleton will tie the knot on Friday! From live-streamed video to photos to breaking details, check back here for complete coverage of the nuptials.
For those awake before dawn to witness the epic event, we have you covered beginning at 3:30 a.m. EDT, when the couple’s 1,900 guests descend on Westminster Abbey. We expect some amazing hats in the audience.
Then, at 5:10 a.m., Prince William and Prince Harry, his best man and younger brother, will make their way to the abbey. They’ll be followed by the bride’s mom and younger brother; William’s aunts, uncles, and cousins (Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and his daughters, Prince Edward and his wife); Prince Charles and William’s stepmother Camilla Parker Bowles; and Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
Around 5:30 a.m., the wedding party—including Kate’s sister Pippa—will head to the ceremony from the Goring Hotel, where Kate is spending her last night as a single lady. And finally, dressed in her mystery gown, Kate and her father Michael will take a 1997 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI to the Abbey. The drive will mark the first time since 1963 that the royal bride hasn’t arrived at the church in a horse-drawn carriage.
At 6 a.m. sharp, the ceremony will kick off—and a short time later, Prince William and Kate will be pronounced husband and wife.
After vows are said and tears are shed, the newlyweds will make their way to Buckingham Palace in the 1902 State Landau carriage (weather permitting), passing through the throngs of people lining the streets. Once back, they’ll enjoy some Champagne before taking a moment to step out onto the Buckingham Palace balcony at 8:25 a.m., where they’ll kiss for the crowd. Next stop, the reception.
So start brewing your pot of tea, put your crumpets in the oven, and stick with us as we bring you the best of the royal wedding!
