Andrea Mitchell, NBC's chief foreign-affairs correspondent, made a bold announcement on Monday afternoon, ending her MSNBC program on “a personal note” with the news that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. “I am now among the one in eight women in this country—incredibly, one in eight—who have had breast cancer.” She added that the cancer was discovered in its earliest stage and hadn’t spread.
