With her overly affectionate relationship with her brother still lingering in memory, Angelina Jolie seems like the right actress to play Cleopatra, who actually married her brothers, in an upcoming film on the Egyptian queen. Us Weekly exclusively reported Friday that the actress will take on the role in the film adaption of Stacy Schiff’s upcoming book, Queen of the Nile, Cleopatra: A Life. Producer Scott Rudin of No Country for Old Men has acquired the rights to Schiff’s book, which is slated for a November release, and purportedly had Jolie in mind for the lead. Michael Pietsch of the book’s publisher, Little, Brown, told the tabloid, “Angelina Jolie radiates grace and power, exactly the qualities that Stacy Schiff finds in her biography of the most intriguing ruler who ever lived." The actress’ rep could not be reached for comment.
