Former Anonymous activist Barrett Brown, a Texas journalist, was sentenced to five years in jail after pleading guilty to several cybercrimes. Brown was arrested in 2012 and charged with threatening an FBI agent in a chatroom and posting a link to security firms' files hacked by Anonymous. Brown was originally charged with 12 counts of cyber-related crimes and was facing more than 100 years in prison. The five-year sentence has been reduced to just over two years thanks to time already served.
