Protesters crashed the Bears-Viking game on Sunday and hung from the rafters, holding a banner calling on the stadium’s sponsor, U.S. Bank, to “divest” from the Dakota Access Pipeline. The stunt left spectators shocked in the second quarter, as the two protesters literally rappelled down from the rafters at the very top of the stadium. The six rows of spectators just below where the protesters were hanging were evacuated as a precaution, while Minneapolis police and firefighters struggled to figure out how to get the protesters down. Stadium operator SMG issued a statement after the incident saying the two daredevils had managed to climb over a guard rail to get to the ridge truss.
