Leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum are planning to condemn the Paris attacks in a joint statement at the end of the summit on Thursday, according to a draft of the statement obtained by the AP. "We strongly condemn these atrocities that demand a united voice from the global community. We, therefore, reaffirm our strong collective resolve to counter terrorism," the draft said. The attacks overshadowed talks on trade and the economy at the annual regional summit in the Philippines's capital of Manila, where leaders from 21 member nations also discussed tensions China's territorial ambitions in the South China Sea. Five APEC countries, including the Philippines, have clashed with Beijing over disputed claims to islands in the region.
