Roe v. Wade, Schmo v. Wade, according to Arkansas politicians. The state’s House enacted into law Wednesday what is by far the most restrictive abortion law in the country, making it illegal to terminate any pregnancy after 12 weeks. A veto from Democratic Gov. Mike Beebe, who called the new law “blatantly unconstitutional,” was overridden by the state's Senate on Tuesday. The lawsuit contradicts Roe v. Wade, which gives women the right to an abortion until the fetus is viable outside the body—usually at 24 weeks. Pro-choice groups have promised a lawsuit to challenge the new law.
