Arkansas' Democratic Representative Vic Snyder announced Friday he is not up for the challenge of an eighth term in the House and will be retiring when his term comes to an end. Worried about 2010 being "a robust election year," Snyder was one of the more vulnerable Democrats in the House, according to a SurveyUSA poll released Friday that showed him 17 points behind his Republican opponent Tim Griffin. Snyder's retirement makes him the 11th House Democrat to announce his departure and yet another seat Republicans are vying for. Though his seat was the most Democratic-friendly in Arkansas, his support of Democratic legislation—like health-care reform-hurt his standing since the majority of voters disapproved.
