Prince Harry is to be honored in Washington by the Atlantic Council next week for his charitable work with ex-serviceman, and now he is taking on another charity that focuses on vets, having joined forces with cousin-in-law Mike Tindall to help military men and women through rugby.
The sport and party-loving Prince has backed his cousin Zara Philips's husbands new charity Rugby For Heroes which fundraises and mentors servicemen and women making the transition to civilian life.
Harry’s support for Mike is a huge endorsement for the rugby player - who is the newest member of the Royal Family after marrying Harry’s cousin Zara Phillips last July.
A source told the Daily Mirror's Victoria Murphy: “Mike and Harry have had a few conversations about Mike’s work on Rugby For Heroes and Harry told him he was keen to help.”
Harry, 27, issued a statement today, saying: “As a serving member of Her Majesty’s Forces and an avid rugby fan, I am delighted to hear about the valuable work of Rugby for Heroes. The military and rugby share distinctive core values - leadership, respect, courage and camaraderie - which is why the rugby community can play such an important role in supporting our armed servicemen and women to make the successful transition to civilian life.”
Mike, 33, said: “We are truly honoured and delighted to have Prince Harry supporting the work of Rugby For Heroes.”
