William, Kate and Harry were all together again this weekend as they attended the country wedding of the niece of Princess Diana, Emily McCorquodale.
Emily, 28, is the eldest daughter of Lady Sarah, the elder sister of Princess Diana, and she and her brother and sister were very close to Princess Diana. They joined their aunt and the two young princes for family holidays and the children have all stayed in touch as they have grown up.
Emily and her new husband, James Hutt, were guests at last year’s royal wedding.
Also present at the wedding on Saturday at the Church of St Andrew and St Mary in Stoke Rochford, Lincs, where Miss McCorquodale was christened in 1983, was Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, who gave a tempestuous speech accusing the Royal family of abandoning his sister at Diana’s funeral.
Earl Spencer, the uncle of Princes William and Harry, was with his third wife Karen, who appeared heavily pregnant with the Earl’s seventh child. When the Earl married Miss Gordon last year at the family’s ancestral home, Althorp, in Northamptonshire – his third wedding – Princes William and Harry did not attend.
The Duchess looked elegant in a pale grey coat over a hand-painted silk floral “chinoiserie” dress by Jenny Packham.
