Creatures of the Wind Gets Investment: Chicago designers Shane Gabier and Chris Peters of Creatures of the Wind have a new home and new money. The Chicago-based label has now set up a part-time residence in New York City, and has also received an investment from The Dock Group, led by the former president of The Row. Creatures of the Wind is a relatively new brand and has been celebrated with multiple fashion design award nominations since its 2008 establishment. Urban Outfitters Halts Prescription Products: Urban Outfitters has been forced to halt production of their line of proscription-themed products ranging from coffee mugs with the label RX#: VRY-CAF-N8D, to shot glasses that look like syringes. The American Association of Poison Control and attorney generals from 22 states and Guam sent letters to the company claiming that their products promoted the abuse of painkillers. Urban Outfitters responded saying that "from time to time there may be individual items that are misrepresented by people who are not our customer." Despite the fact that the company seems to think these health experts can't take a joke, they pulled the products nonetheless. [CNN]
Karl Lagerfeld's Video Game: Ever wanted to steal Karl Lagerfeld's famous sunglasses right off his face? Now you can with the new online video game developed for one month called, 'Je Veux Les Lunettes De Karl,' or 'I Want Karl's Sunglasses.' The designer is rarely seen without his darkened spectacles, so the game takes a page from real life, making it hard for users to steal them away. "You think it's simple to see me without my sunglasses? It's impossible," the video Karl laughs. If you miss, which you probably will, Karl taunts, "Karl has no more time for you." French Couturier Dies: French couturier Jean-Louis Scherrer, known for his work with Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior, died Thursday morning at the age of 78. Scherrer launched his own line in 1962, and Jackie Kennedy was one of his most famous clients. His legacy continues with the help of JSB International, which acquired his brand in 2011 and added other products, like watches. [Business of Fashion]
