Anna Wintour Hosts DNC Fundraiser: The Wintour/Obama relationship is staying strong. After the ever-fashionable FLOTUS spoke at the inauguration of the newly-minted Anna Wintour Costume Center at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (and consoled an emotional Wintour), the editrix is once again continuing her fundraising efforts for her BFF’s Presidential husband. For Obama's re-election campaign, Wintour spearheaded successful soirees in New York, Paris, and England. Now, she will be hosting an intimate dinner at her Greenwich Village townhouse on June 17, where tickets are reportedly going for $32,000 a pop to raise funds for the Democratic National Committee. Kimye Heads Back to Vogue: Brace yourselves for the aftershock. The world may have been rattled by Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's April Vogue cover, but the questionably powerful celebrity couple is coming back to the glossy for round two—this time with pre-wedding coverage. On Friday, Vogue’s Andre Leon Talley will attend a lavish, pre-nuptial brunch at fashion designer Valentino Garavani’s elaborate 17th-century estate just outside Paris to cover the event for a digital exclusive on the magazine's site. Attendees will receive a private tour of the Palace of Versailles—a rumored wedding locale—and will receive private cell phones and security detail to guarantee “privacy for the guest and wedding celebrations.” [Cosmopolitan]
Zosia Mamet Refuses to ‘Lean In’: For her latest essay in Glamour magazine, Girls actress Zosia Mamet talks why she won't 'lean in' a la Sheryl Sandberg, and why we need to define new pillars for success. "Feminism was meant to empower us as women, to build us up for fighting on male-dominated battlefields," she writes. "It did that, but it did some other things as well. It gave us female role models like Hillary and Oprah and Beyoncé and in the process implied that mogul-hood should be every woman’s goal. We kept the old male ideas of success: power and money. We need new ones!" She likens her new ideas to wanting to open a small coffee shop in Vermont, and not turn it into a franchise—and not having people look at her as any less successful. "Success isn’t about winning everything; it’s about achieving your dream, be that teaching middle school or flying jets," she continues. "And no matter what we as individual women want, no matter what our goals, we have to support one another. Because I might actually open a café in Vermont—just a small one, where I make the muffins myself—and I hope you ladies don’t think me any less of a woman for it." [Glamour]
