Whether it’s local kids playing 5 on 5 or a hopeful 40-something man trying to sink a half court shot after a couple of beers, every professional game seems to have a halftime fan competition these days. The fans love it because they feel involved and like they’ve got a chance to win some money – just like they have a chance of winning the lottery, or being picked up as a free agent by one of the teams and playing in the second half.
This video justifies that fan faith, however, because the contestant in this “Shoot the Puck” competition at a preseason Chicago Blackhawks game buries it on his third try. That contestant also happens to be Cuba Gooding, Jr., Oscar-winner for Jerry Maguire and major hockey fan.
The shot is great, but Cuba’s celebration is even better.
