May 22 will see Ireland vote on a constitutional referendum that, if passed, would allow for same sex marriage. To help get out the vote in favor, Irish comedians Aisling Bea and Jason Byrne employed the help of comedian friends like future Daily Show host Trevor Noah, American stand-up comic (and Sniglets creator) Rich Hall, and actor/author/gay rights activist Stephen Fry.
Ever the picture of erudition, Fry pleaded in his best Gaelic with the voters of Ireland to offer their fellow gay citizens the opportunity that England has afforded him. But Fry also added a bit of levity to the serious issue, quipping: “I don’t know if I’m in favor of gay marriage myself… My husband is.”
