The Daily Beast’s Editor in Chief, John Avlon, appeared on CNN to talk about the Beast’s recent story looking into old allegations from Trump’s ex-wife that he made her feel “violated” during sex.
Trump’s decision to enter the presidential race made the story important, Avlon said. “When you run for president, everything in your past becomes relevant, because it’s a character reference.”
Avlon also responded to the threats from Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen. “His counsel thought he could intimidate and threaten one of our reporters, Tim Mak,” Avlon said. “We pushed back, because The Daily Beast is not intimidated, we will not be intimidated.”
