U.S. and Swedish officials are discussing the possibility of delivering Julian Assange to American custody, according to a report in British newspaper The Independent. At the moment, the WikiLeaks boss is in a British jail awaiting extradition proceedings which could send him back to Sweden, where he is wanted in a sex-charges investigation. The U.S. Justice Department could charge Assange with espionage offenses. Conservative politicians have upped the pressure on the U.S. government by calling for Assange's prosecution. Sources tell The Independent that no extradition would take place until Sweden has completed its investigation.
