Ecuador has agreed to allow Swedish authorities to question WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange at the Ecuadorean embassy in London. Assange has been holed up in the embassy for more than three years to avoid extradition to Sweden on charges of sexual assault against two women in 2010. The 44-year-old Australian denies the allegations, but said he fears Sweden would extradite him to the United States, where he could be put on trial over WikiLeaks’ release of classified military documents five years ago. The agreement was signed in Ecuador’s capital after about six months of negotiations.
