At least a dozen people were killed and 32 were injured during the worst fighting between pro-Russian rebels and Ukraine government forces in more than a week. On Monday, Col. Andriy Lysenko said at least nine soldiers were killed in the past day and 27 were injured. The city council of Donetsk said at least three civilians were killed during the same outbreak of shelling and five were wounded. Pro-Russian rebels and Ukrainian soldiers have continued to clash, despite having signed a Sept. 5 ceasefire. Just last week, the two sides signed a pact to remove all heavy artillery from the front line. More than 3,500 have died since fighting began in April.
