Syrian state television on Saturday reported that at least 39 people were killed after a blast tore through a bus convoy carrying evacuees outside Aleppo. Both pro-government Syrian media and the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the explosion was caused by a car bomb. Dozens more were injured in the blast, though the exact number has not yet been determined. The attack came as thousands of people waiting to be evacuated were left stranded as the latest evacuation deal was stalled. The evacuation deal, one of many in recent months aimed at giving President Bashar Assad control over rebel-controlled areas, was reportedly delayed because rebels in one of the towns were not granted safe passage to leave. The evacuees had reportedly been stuck waiting on the outskirts of Aleppo since Friday.
