AT&T is happy for all the help it can get as it tries to win approval for its merger with T-Mobile. And it's getting plenty of help from organizations its given money to in the past. AT&T has a record of giving to arts and education programs, charities and organizations. Now many of the organizations the company has given to are coming out in favor of the merger. The NAACP, GLAAD, The Columbia Urban League, and the National Education Association all received money from AT&T, and all of them have issued statements or written to the FCC in favor of the merger. To be fair, other groups, from Silicon Valley companies to environment organizations, have come out in favor of the merger without receiving money. They buy AT&T's argument that the merger will boost broadband access for underserved areas.
