A 57-year-old Australian woman who recently returned home from Sierra Leone is being tested for Ebola in a Cairns hospital, Queensland health officials said. Cairns nurse Sue-Ellen Kovack had been working in a hospital in Sierra Leone treating Ebola victims and has been in home quarantine since she returned home to Cairns on Tuesday, officials said. Kovack had developed a “low-grade fever” and went to the hospital, officials said. Test results were expected Thursday evening or Friday afternoon, but in the meantime officials said the woman posed no risk to people who had traveled on the plane with her, as she had not displayed any symptoms on the flights. Concern about the spread of Ebola has been growing, with a Spanish nurse recently becoming the first to get the disease in Europe.
