The Arizona woman who had her death sentence overturned this spring after an appeals court judge ruled she didn't receive a fair trial was released from jail on bond on Friday. Debra Mike was convicted of murdering her 4-year-old son in 1990, and she was given the death penalty shortly after. The boy was killed by Mike's roommate, James Styers, who was also sentenced to death. But the detective who questioned the mother had a history of lying under oath, and no other substantive evidence linked her to the crime, the judge noted. Mike still faces charges, and Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne plans to appeal the decision with the U.S. Supreme Court.
