Three Baltimore County police officers shot and killed an unarmed man while responding to a domestic disturbance call, authorities said Thursday. Police fatally shot 41-year-old Spencer Lee McCain, who officers said allegedly made movements that indicated he was armed and ready to draw a weapon, though no weapon was found, according to Police Chief Jim Johnson. The three officers encountered McCain while responding to a call just after 1 a.m., forcing their way inside because they feared a person might be in danger. Authorities had not determined how many shots were fired, but investigators recovered 19 shell casings at the scene. A woman inside the home had “visible injuries,” but refused treatment. Two children were also at the home.
