Disgraced former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was sentenced again to 14 years in prison, the same plea he was originally given more than four years ago when he was convicted on corruption charges. Though a federal appeals court threw out five of his 18 counts, U.S. District Judge James Zagel ruled Tuesday that Blagojevich was still guilty of the corruption that warranted the initial sentence. Blagojevich was painted in court as a model prisoner, and his family spoke about how much they’ve suffered while he’s spent the past nearly five years locked up. Still, Zagel said Blagojevich’s wrongdoing outweighed his model performance in prison.
