Blago may have his book deal, but the Illinois Senate isn’t letting him off easy. They’ve just unanimously passed a bill that would block former governor from collecting the six-figure book advance he’s expecting from his recent deal with Phoenix Books. The Elected Officials Misconduct Forfeiture Act, which has now passed both houses and is heading to Gov. Patt Quinn to sign, would allow the attorney general to launch a lawsuit against Blago and to claim all proceeds from such a sale. “We’re not trying to prevent him from making a living,” said Sen. Terry Link, “We’re trying to prevent him from taking advantage of the people of the state of Illinois.”
