The body of a small child found on Thursday near a mobile home park in Washington appears to be that of 6-year-old Jenise Wright, who went missing over the weekend, authorities said. Wright went to bed on Saturday night in her home near Bremerton but was not seen again the next day. Her parents called the police after she did not turn up for Sunday dinner, telling the sheriff’s office that they had not initially been alarmed because the girl was prone to wandering around the mobile home park and just checking in every few hours. The body was found in a wooded area near the mobile home park. The cause of death and a positive identification are expected from the coroner’s office on Friday. “This is going to be a criminal investigation, no doubt about it,” sheriff spokesman Scott Wilson said. “We are focusing on trying to narrow in on a suspect.”
