Never one to mince words, new House speaker John Boehner (R-OH) wrapped up a Republican event in Baltimore by likening government spending to a disease. "Washington has an illness," Boehner said, "The illness is spending. The debt is a symptom of that illness. The American people want it cured." Boehner blamed the Obama administration with infecting the country, citing Democrats' "job-killing spending spree."
