Jon Bon Jovi made his first public announcement of his intention to purchase the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. In an open letter in the Buffalo News, the rocker outlined his desire to purchase the NFL team, which has been up for sale since owner Ralph Wilson passed away in March. Bon Jovi has been rumored to be making a bid for the team along with two partners who are both from Toronto: Larry Tanenbaum, who is chairman of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, and the Rogers family, which controls Rogers Communications. Many Buffalo Bills' fans and business leaders are worried Bon Jovi and co. would move the team to Toronto and have openly criticized any potential sale to them. In his letter, Bon Jovi stressed that he wants to “make the Bills successful in Buffalo” and is “committed to working with the State, City, County and business community.” The Bills Fan Alliance released a statement in response to the letter: "While we appreciate his sentiment, it's worth noting that nowhere in his letter does he write or directly state that he will 'not move the Bills from Buffalo.”
