Customs and Border Protection staff decided that their officers and agents should not have to wear body cameras after a yearlong internal review. The review cited cost as a potential issue as well as the fact that cameras could be a distraction to agents and could be unsuited to the hot, dusty environment in which they work. The repot didn't rule out cameras outright in the future but called for more analysis before they could be implemented.
