A confidential military report previously revealed that many officers thought Bradley Manning, the soldier accused of leaking state secrets to WikiLeaks, unfit for combat in Iraq—and a new Guardian investigation offers plenty of corroborating evidence. According to The Guardian, Manning wet himself, threw chairs, shouted at his commanding officers, and regularly underwent psychiatric evaluations. One fellow soldier remembers him "blowing up and punching this chick in the face.” Other soldiers say that security was so lax at the base in Iraq where Manning allegedly stole the secrets from that anyone could access the computer room, and Manning’s special SIPRNet machine had its password on a sticky note on the monitor. Regular soldiers would sometimes log on to these computers and watch “kill mission” footage.
