The Senate Intelligence Committee will soon be receiving former FBI Director James Comey’s memos documenting his conversations with President Donald Trump, the committee’s chairman, Richard Burr, and vice chairman, Mark Warner, said Wednesday. Warner told The Daily Beast that the committee has a “commitment to get appropriate access to the Comey memos.” He would not say whether the commitment came from special counsel Robert Mueller, but said the panel, which is investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 election, would receive the memos “soon.” Comey revealed at a hearing earlier this month that he asked a friend to leak some of the contents of the memos, which included his observation that Trump asked him to scale back the federal probe into former national security adviser Michael Flynn. The memos will likely not be made public.
